Granada devotes 15–18 October 2026 to Réquiem por Lorca, conceived as a collective creation of music, poetry, memory and the performing arts. Four acts move through different spaces in the city to remember the poet on the 90th anniversary of his assassination. More than a performance held in a single hall, it is a cultural itinerary spread across museums, squares, monuments and centres of creation.

The four acts follow Federico García Lorca’s calligram Rosa de la muerte (1934). Artistic direction is by Maral Kekejian and Pep Olona. The project is led by the Fundación Federico García Lorca and the Centro Federico García Lorca, with the programme published at requiemporlorca.com.

Programme, 15–18 October

Times in this table come from the timetable published by the organiser, checked on 10 October 2026. Where that timetable does not fix a single hour, this guide does not invent one.

Thursday 15 — «Agua para tu amor»

«Ay» is a solo-voice action by Rocío Márquez at Museo Casa de los Tiros, in four half-hour passes. «Lacrimosa», by Javier Díez Ena, is at Corrala de Santiago in two 90-minute passes; the official timetable also credits Javi Álvarez. «La llorera» is a collective musical gathering at Centro Federico García Lorca, starting at 22:00. The Centre describes the project as a song that begins and ends with the bell of the Torre de la Vela; the timetable does not publish a separate opening-bell time on Thursday.

Friday 16 — «Tierra para tu alma»

Coro de Lamentaciones, led by Ramón Rodríguez, performs in public space: the timetable sets three 15-minute passes at Plaza de la Universidad. «Despedida», by Ana Buitrago and Sergi Fäustino, is the stage piece at Colegio Mayor Santa Cruz la Real, starting at 17:30 and lasting 120 minutes. «Yo canto para luego» brings invited artists and Granada choirs to Plaza de las Pasiegas — among them Coro Ciudad de Granada, Coral Polifónica de la Basílica San Juan de Dios and Joven Coro de la Orquesta Ciudad de Granada — in two passes, at 20:00 and 22:00.

Saturday 17 — «Fuego para tu ceniza»

Saturday splits music and memory between La Madraza, Corral del Carbón and the cathedral. «El Cant de la Sibil·la», with Mariona Sagarra and Coro Nubah, has three short passes at La Madraza. «Re-petición», by Carmen Camacho and Rocío Márquez, is at Corral del Carbón. At the cathedral, «Llanto & Réquiem» joins the Llanto por Ignacio Sánchez Mejías — voice of Alberto Cortés — and Mozart’s Requiem with the Orquesta Ciudad de Granada and the Coro de la OCG. That concert has its own listing: Réquiem por Lorca at the cathedral. Published start: 19:45; doors: 19:15.

Sunday 18 — «Aire para tu boca»

The poetry reading at Carmen de los Mártires starts at 10:30 (doors at 10:00). The published company includes Alberto Cortés, Ángeles Mora, Coro Nubah, Erika Martínez, Juan Andrés García Román, Luis Melgarejo, María Eloy-García, Rosa Berbel and Sara Torres.

The symbolic close links the Alhambra and the bells of Granada, with the voice of Enrique Morente in Campanas por el poeta. The timetable on requiemporlorca.com sets the start at 12:30. The pages of the Centro Federico García Lorca and the Ministry of Culture describe that peal at 12:00. Check the organiser’s programme on Sunday before you travel.

Tickets and capacity

Entry to the listed acts is free, subject to capacity and, in some spaces, to booking. The Centro Federico García Lorca published advance collection for 6 and 7 October 2026: Teatro Isabel la Católica, 12:00–14:00 and 17:00–20:00; Centro Federico García Lorca, 17:00–20:00; a maximum of two tickets per person per activity.

That window has already closed. On 10 October 2026 it is not open. The acts marked for advance collection — «Ay», «Yo canto para luego», «Re-petición» and «Llanto & Réquiem» — used that window. For whatever access remains, check the organiser’s programme. The rest of the table is listed as open access or free until full, without that collection.

Venues

Thursday and Friday move through the centre: Casa de los Tiros, Corrala de Santiago, Centro Federico García Lorca, Plaza de la Universidad, Colegio Mayor Santa Cruz la Real and Plaza de las Pasiegas. Saturday stays in the historic centre (La Madraza, Corral del Carbón and the cathedral). Sunday climbs to Carmen de los Mártires and the Alhambra area.

Between centre venues, walking is usually enough. Sunday’s stretch is uphill: leave margin from Plaza Nueva or Reyes Católicos. If you arrive by car, the guide to parking in Granada and the low-emission zone saves circling the centre.

Lorca in the city

This guide covers only the 15–18 October programme. For houses, the archive and memory beyond these four days: Federico García Lorca in Granada. To walk the urban core — Huerta de San Vicente, Rinconcillo, Centro Lorca and the Realejo —: Federico García Lorca route in Granada.

The only agenda listing that matches a specific session of this programme is Saturday’s cathedral concert. The other acts have no individual listing: times and capacity are in this programme and on the organiser’s site.
