GRN route through Lorca’s Granada: from Huerta de San Vicente (or the Campillo core if you shorten) to the Realejo and optionally San Nicolás. Eight documented stops —summer house, gathering, archive, university, refuge and friendship with Falla—. Does not include Fuente Vaqueros or Valderrubio: that is a Vega excursion. The itinerary
Huerta de San Vicente
The García Lorca family summer house from 1926. Federico wrote works such as Gypsy Ballads and Blood Wedding here. In 2026 the centenary of the first family stay is marked. The house-museum may close for programming or occasional works, so check its official status before travelling.
Plaza del Campillo and El Rinconcillo
Café Alameda, the gathering known as El Rinconcillo, was young Lorca’s intellectual workshop with Falla, Gerardo Diego and others. The café is gone; Restaurante Chikito now occupies a premises on the square and keeps memory of the space, but it is neither a museum nor an exact replica of the historic venue.
Centro Federico García Lorca
Archive, specialised library and exhibitions on Plaza de la Romanilla. Do not confuse with the Huerta: the focus here is documentary and exhibition-based. In 2026 it hosts RÍOS (Cruzar el Archivo Lorca) until 18 October.
Plaza de la Trinidad
Setting for Lorca’s student and social life in Granada. The square links the cathedral axis with the Trinidad neighbourhood, where residences, cafés and the intellectual atmosphere of the 1920s overlapped.
Law Faculty and University of Granada
Lorca studied Law and Arts at the UGR. The area around Plaza de la Universidad and the Law Faculty is also linked, according to memory research, to the former Civil Government where he was held after arrest —without an exact visitor-facing location.
Casa de los Rosales
On 9 August 1936 Lorca sought refuge at Luis Rosales’s home. He was arrested here on 16 August. The building on Calle Angulo is not a public visitor space today; the stop is historical memory, not spectacle.
Casa Museo Manuel de Falla
Carmen where Manuel de Falla lived from 1922 to 1939. Lorca’s friendship and collaboration —cante jondo, 1922 Competition— are clearer after visiting this space or at least its Antequeruela Alta setting.
San Nicolás viewpoint (optional)
Optional finish with the Granada Lorca sang and portrayed: the Alhambra from the Albaicín. No evidence Lorca “discovered” this viewpoint, but the view condenses the urban landscape of his work. Adds 1.1 km uphill.

Urban core vs full route
Without the Huerta, the Campillo–Falla core is about 4.2 km and 90–120 min on foot. With Huerta and San Nicolás, allow 5.6 km and 2–2.5 h travel only.
Indoor visits
Huerta, Lorca Centre and Falla need time and often booking. A plan with entries can stretch to 4–5 h without the Vega excursion.
Vega and memory off-route
