About the Event
Los Martes de Castril is the lecture series at Granada’s Archaeological and Ethnological Museum: every Tuesday at 19:00, UGR archaeologists and researchers present current findings and debates on Carrera del Darro.
Los Martes de Castril has been a fixed date for archaeological outreach in Granada for decades. The Archaeological and Ethnological Museum on Carrera del Darro hosts Tuesday 19:00 lectures by professors, researchers and excavation teams presenting ongoing projects: from landscape and heritage to topics as specific as funerary practices in al-Andalus — such as the “Morir en al-Andalus” cycle woven into the museum programme.
Entry is free until capacity (around 80 people). No prior registration: arriving fifteen minutes early usually secures a seat. The audience mixes History and Archaeology students, heritage enthusiasts and Albaicín–Realejo locals who follow the cycle month by month.
It is an ideal plan for culture without a ticket or stage production: an hour of specialist content with Q&A at the end. Check the monthly programme on the museum website or Canal UGR: titles rotate and some sessions tie into the centre’s temporary exhibitions.
